Italian/Spanish Whiten Peel

De-Pigment Chemical Peel can

  • fade and eliminate skin discolorations such as sunspots, freckles, and blotchiness.
  • treat mild acne scarring and certain types of acne
  • decrease fine lines found around the eyes and mouth.
  • improve and refresh the skin’s texture color

At CSK Clinics, we have 2 versions of Chemical Peels to suit the different individual needs – Spanish Renew Peel and Italian Renew Peel.

Spanish Renew Peel is an intensive form of chemical peel recommended to be done at least twice a year for optimal results. This treatment combines whitening agents like Kojic acid and Ascorbic acid to reduce melanin formation and treat hyper-pigmentation. You can expect to experience stronger skin peeling effects for at least a week after the treatment.

Italian Renew Peel is a less-intensive form of chemical peel compared to Spanish Renew Peel, and it can be done at least once a month for optimal results. This treatment consists of Lactic and Resorcinol and uses improvised exfoliating agents that helps in skin exfoliation and whitening. For oily, acne skin, there will also be the addition of Salicylic Acid to help in controlling oil sebum & acne growth. You can expect mild – moderate skin peeling effects for at least 3 to 7 days.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the treatment like?

The skin is thoroughly cleansed with an agent that removes excess oil. One or more chemical solutions, such as glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid or carbolic acid (phenol), are applied to small areas of the skin. These applications produce a controlled wound, enabling new, regenerated skin to appear. Most customers experience a warm sensation that lasts between 5 to 10 minutes followed by a prickling sensation. A cool compress may be applied after to alleviate any discomfort.

How long will it take before I am able to see results?

We generally recommend 6 sessions at intervals of between 4 to 6 for the best results to be seen.

Who is suitable for this treatment?

Generally, fair-skinned and light-haired customers are ideal candidates for chemical peels. Those with superficial to medium-depth skin issues are suitable as well. People who are on a high dose of Roaccutane, topical Tretinoin-based treatments or other whitening skincare and exfoliators, or those with any resurfacing treatments should inform our doctors before proceeding with the treatments.

What are the complementary treatments to help improve treatment results?

Are there any side effects from the treatment?

In certain skin types, there is a risk of developing a temporary or permanent colour change in the skin. Taking birth control pills, subsequent pregnancy or family history of brownish discolouration on the face may increase the possibility of developing abnormal pigmentation.
Medium-depth and deep peeling may result in redness and swelling, as well as the presence of water blisters that may break, crust, turn brown and peel off over a period of between 7 to 10 days. Medium-depth peels may be repeated between 6 to 12 months, if necessary. Although low, there is a risk of scarring in certain areas of the face, and certain individuals may be more prone to scarring. If scarring does occur, it can usually be treated.

Is there any post-treatment care you would advise?

We advise avoiding overexposure to the sun after a chemical peel since the new skin is fragile and more susceptible to complications. After chemical peel, it is important to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. If you have been prescribed oral antibiotics or an oral antiviral medicine, you should begin taking those as directed. Typically, the oral antibiotics are prescribed depending on the depth of the chemical peel.
